Hi all, taken a backward step, H/A stroke 2019, in the last week I have been having very bad dizziness spells, checked blood pressure over weekend and my pulse rate is very low ( 45 ), warned by GP if it ever falls below 50 to contact surgery, went today Gp could not get it above ( 47 ) , changed Bisoprolol to 2.5 mg also contacting my cardiologist to go on 24 Heart monitoring again, plus blood test, and then the fear factor, if anything changes while waiting 999 immediately, for outcome of all this,

Hello
Sorry to hear you have taken a step backwards but they will soon have you moving forward again
It is not uncommon these backwards steps happen but disappointing when they do and can be an anxious time but you are in good hands and they will soon have everything as it should be
Let us know how you get on x
Thanks for the support.

Read your post with interest as it pretty much matches my situation although no H/A but TIA and diagnosis of AF in January 2018. Recently experienced dizziness which I put down to low BP, I notice you say that your Bisoprolol has changed to 2.5mg, may I ask what the dose was before and has the change made a noticeable difference? All the best ....
When discharged from hospital it was 10mg per day, it was only after reading comments on this forum I questioned my GP who dropped it down to 5mg per day, after pulse rate dropped to 45bpm yesterday he has dropped it down to the 2.5mg I started today, still feel lousy though.
I have been on 1.25mg since first prescribed so assume my BP is naturally low. I hope your soon on the mend - Regards Alan
Hi Alan, only started on 1.25mg today, felt dizzy most of the day, been a vid drop from 10mg to 5mg then down to latest , body needs time to adjust.
I too had hypotension caused by Bisoprolol with pulse rates down to 40 bpm. I'm now down to 1.25mg and my resting rate sits around 55. I haven't had one of those awful dizzy, trying to pass out spells when standing up for a while. It's just a case of getting the medication right for you as an individual. My GP said he would have me on 10mg if he could. I won't say what my response was!
Hopefully things will settle down for and you will feel a lot better soon. Don't worry about the additional tests - it's good that they are on your case. Try to keep positive and not worry, especially about the comment made regarding calling the emergency services. That's just common sense.
Kind regards,
Gerald
Thank you for the response, bad dizzy day today, but first day on 2.5 mg bisoprolol, dropping from 10mg.
Yes, a large quantity will still be in your system. The most I've had prescribed is 3.75mg and that had me reeling all over the place. I'm sure with 10mg I would be six foot under. Then my GP did tell me that I'm a nightmare to medicate. My medication "black list" is quite long. 😀
Ditto my friend , GP has tried on 3 different occasions to alter my meds, had bad reactions to all, classic ( what am I going to do with you ) comment when I see him.
You didn't say what your BP was....
My resting pulse is 45 which is no problem unless my BP goes below 100 systolic, then I get dizzy spells.
This normally only happens when I've been in a hot bath or steam room/sauna.
Good luck
BP at time of dizziness was 137/72, I was always told by cardiologist & cardio nurses it should be as near to 140/80, so it wasn’t that far off.
