I recently reached out to you for advice on a year long plan to get me off blood pressure tablets, most of you suggested giving it a go, sadly I have bottled out, mainly due to fear, do any of you remember that feeling of a 40 ton lorry sitting on your chest, the meds I am on gives me a fighting chance of never having to feel that again, what is that old saying ( don’t rock the boat ) , it may be a viable plan for the younger generation but I am in my 70 and stuck in my ways, I have done all the exercises prescribed by my cardiologist stopped smoking going for walks Etc. So staying with current plan, but a big thank you to all of you for the advice.
Be safe.

Very sensible. I'm taking all the meds they offer me. I'm 58 and to date 2 minor heart attacks within 6 months. No CA obstruction, suspected coronary artery spasm but elevated BP & cholesterol probably attributed. Elevated BP has some serious health implications so at 70 I'd also stick with it if you're not getting awful side effects. As a healthcare professional with heart problems I just wanted to share my thoughts. Good luck and may you continue to lead a long and happy life.
Hi. I had a massive heart attack in April one week before my 44th birthday and remember that feeling only too clearly. I definitely won't be doing anything to rock the boat and quite happily take my tablet cocktail every day if it means i get to stick around and watch my teenagers grow. Take care x
