Post SVT Ablation

Had ablation for SVT two weeks ago and felt great until two days ago. Getting 120 HR and feeling pretty poor. Bisoprolol & Edoxaban were stopped immediately after procedure by the Consultant in charge. Is all this in the normal range?

Is your pulse of 120 constant or sporadic and how are you recording the rate?

Thank you for coming back. Pulse sporadic (on two occasions each day when resting) - used to assessing it just by touch & stopwatch. Of course nothing like it was (180/190) pre-ablation.

We know that even people without any abnormal heart arrhythmias, still get extra beats and that is considered normal. I would mention what's happening to your heart to your GP, or even better the consultant who did your ablation.

About 6-8 weeks after my last ablation my heart went into a constant fast rhythm and I was cardioverted. Have been ok since.

Thanks again - perhaps I am expecting too much too soon, and there will be 'bumps in the road'. Up until these two days I was great - out walking again - felt like I was forty once more. Your experience has put things into perspective.

Just one more thing that you, or, someone else may offer a view. Is it normal to have Bisoprolol(2.5) & Edoxoban stopped immediately after the ablation. I was told it was successful with no complications. John

If you are young (think it's something like under 60) they are often stopped once heart rate is considered ok. EP's all have different ideas about when to stop taking medication. Personally, I would want to keep taking these until I was 100% sure the ablation was a success. Then reduce the dose gradually.
