Mixture of new tablets to take. When is best to take. I have been prescribed Aspirin, famotidine, bisoprolol and atorvastatin is it safe to take them all in the evening. Say the following times:

Famotidine at 6pm

Aspirin at 7pm

Bisoprolol at 8pm

Atorvastatin at 9.30

As they make me feel so horrible headache dizzy and nausea if spread out throughout the day. Also now have terrible oesophageal spasms from acid reflux. Very new to all of this and my anxiety is now full on from the side effects. Any help is appreciated.

Hello :-)

It usually says on the box when to take them and I presume yours do

If you think it would help taking them differently to what it says then I would talk to your Doctor or pharmacists and ask them for their advice as they are the professionals and know why they have suggested when you take them

Sometimes the side effects do simmer down once your body gets used to them but I do understand anxiety as I suffer myself so make that call and hopefully they will agree a plan when to take them that will suit you better :-)

Let us know how you get on :-) x

Hi.It should say on the label morning/evening. I would recommend talking to your gp if you are thinking of moving it all about.

Also with your tablets you should probably be on omeprazole/lanzoprazole to help protect your stomach.

All the best x

The famotidine is the stomach protector. Not everyone can take the PPIs

It's what they used before the PPIs; another was ranitidine which has now been banned.

I take the famotidine and statin at night , aspirin on a morning; don't know about bisopralol but you really should ask your doctor. Some of them work better at certain times. The only one there that may be showing side effects is the bisopralol which is to reduce blood pressure therefore I would suspect that should be taken on a morning but I don't know for sure. Have you asked the chemist?

Famotidine is meant to reduce stomach acid. It's prescribed instead of a Proton pump inhibitor (e.g. Lansoprazole). So you need to take it at the same time as the drug which is causing the problem. That could be either aspirin (presumable 75mg) Bisoprolol, or atorvastatin.Statins are normally taken at night. Before my heart attack, I was on 40mg of atorvastatin, post MI 80mg. Bisoprolol is normally taken in the morning. After 1 year, my cardiologist took me off Bisoprolol which was making me dozy and nauseous. . Atorvastatin can cause gastric problems so after a year, my cardiologist reduced the dosage to 40mg.

Don't do anything without consulting a cardiologist.

I have been prescribed, aspirin, bisoprolol and atorvastatin, post cabg 30 months. I take them all in the morning after breakfast, after researching what times to take atorvstatins etc. I think waiting all day looking at the times for meds would drive me nuts, your whole life would circle around your meds. Live your life and be happy, don’t centre it around your taking medication.👍

Take the statins before bed, your liver produces more cholesterol at night. I take mine all at once, twice per day, 12 hours apart, more or less.
