Do you find a particular time of day or night more difficult to cope with your emotions?

I do!

I've found that early evening is particularly difficult to manage at times, lots of unwanted memories pop up. Have you found a way to cope with this type of thing?

2am --4am usually for me! My mind won't switch off easily once I'm awake and the memories are there.

Ooh, that's a rotten time Sandradsn

So difficult to clear your mind and go back to sleep at that time, poor you.

I have found bed time the worst because we used to help mum get ready for bed and enjoy a nice calming chat. I still liek to turn in in the same manner, without haste.

I can imagine that was a good experience and memory for you Greyone and certainly something your Mum would have looked forward to, so be proud you made such a positive contribution in making her happy.

That’s a difficult one. I’d say night. It’s normally when something has triggered a memory or I’m upset about something else & then it just takes off.

Strangely changing seasons always upsets me 🤷‍♀️ knowing that my lost loved ones will never see the flowers coming up or the blossom on the trees the birds singing etc….my daughter loved the snow but hated the cold & I’d get in a terrible state wondering if she was warm enough crazy right. Luckily that doesn’t happen anymore but still it makes me shed a tear or two.

I’d say first thing in the morning & nights during the day I keep busy.

Understandable Caza

Interestingly, I hadn't thought about the changing seasons, but I will be sure to in future.

That stands to reason, when we're still is a vulnerable time <3

Just after my father died back in 2021 I became ever so upset when the autumn fruit and veg was coming into season and also the spring flowers.

Things are easier now time has passed by.

I had people telling me that I was sick in the head for organising parties to celebrate the man who abused me as yearly I honour the date and time he actually died which was 11.30am and do his lunch at that time and on father's day and his birthday as well.

Hi Turnipgirl

It's amazing how certain things upset us at these sensitive times. It's really interesting that that these triggers are so varied, we all feel so differently and of course its because they are peculiar to us.

Please don't worry about other peoples views, do what you feel is right for you!

One of my friends said how the things that had been said to me after my father died were a disgrace and had said to me do what you feel is right for you and how it wasn't a decision for the people who made those comments to make and to ignore them as they were stupid!

What I always say is how matters that appear silly and trivial to one person aren't to another!
