I wanted to revive this post, I hope you don't mind spykey <3

I didn't get the chance to choose a song at my brothers funeral, but when I hear the song my parents chose it takes me back to that very day 30 years ago! And still brings a tear & a throat gulp wherever I am, when I hear it on the radio or anywhere it's playing! Simple Minds 'Don't you forget about me!' What takes you back?

Warm Wishes Spykey 🤗

This song really makes me emotional, My Dad and me used to do a special dance together with all the actions to this, the memory has never left me. Bless you Dad <3

My dad used to sing "when I'm 64" by the Beatles, sadly he only lived to 44.So it's a sad one.

Unforgettable by Nat King Cole was played at mums funeral, not sure if I can listen to it again.xx

HI Sandra,

Your Dad was sadly in his prime<3

I can understand not wanting to hear Nat King Cole again, that song is powerful <3

No probs Chloe, it's good to bring it up again especially as there are newer members since the first time.

I have my Mums music in my head as they are so recent, and I keep playing them over + over again! Some people have said i tree s not healthy to keep placing them, but I feel that I am closer to her at the moment and will stop when I am good and ready!

We had two songs at when we said night night to my dad (I couldn't say the other the other saying as I prefer to use my saying) as we had a Queen song (I can't remember what it was called now) when we were going into the crematorium and we had my dad's favourite song, Dreadlock Holiday by 10cc playing when we were placing fabric red roses on top of my dad's bed (I can't say the actual name as it'll upset me) and when we were leaving the crematorium after saying night night to my dad.

After the service we all went to our local Toby carvery for a roast dinner in memory of our dad as he loved a Sunday roast.

Hi <3

That's a lovely way to celebrate your Dads life and to say 'night night'. I really like the thought of red material roses, that's a new idea to me, lovely!
