Are you on tramadol pain meds as they can make you very itchy. To stop itching a anti histamine medication can help. Seek medical assistance would be my main advice.
Hi caycay,
There could be a number of causes of your itchy skin-- one being the Bechet's disease itself. have you changed meds lately? Are you itchy all over or just in certain spots? and is the itchiness accompanied with rashing, dryness, lesions, or a burning sensation? If the itchiness is seeming to be "on" the skin, then maybe a lukewarm bath in oatmeal could help (such as Aveeno bath), or using a mild OTC steroid lotion or cream can really help soothe itchy and burning skin. I also find that a cream called "Lanacane" works wonders (it has lidocaine in it, vitamins and aloe, and also soemthing to help with the itching). Taking a mild OTC antihistamine could also help a lot, but lke you mentioned, you might want to check with your dcotor first. Are you taking oral steroids? because sometimes a slight increase in steroids (temporarily) will help during a bad flare of the itchiness.. but again, be careful with this option. I don't really know what else to say that could help-- I hope that something helps you and you feel a bit more comfortable, sooner than later! Take care

Hello I suffer from bad itching at times, and my skin can sometimes be clear at this point no lesions etc, just no reason for it i find aloe Vera gel really helps, it helps stop the burning and dryness and is very soothing, when I have got lesions I use watered down tea tree oil or a medicated wash. Hope you manage to get some relief
Wow Erssie, this is so comprehensive! Some really useful tips here, thank you
Hi Hun,
Try asking your GP to consider trying one of the epilectic drugs which are used for the treatment of diabetes where the nerve endings (particularly in the feet and legs) are hypersensitive. This range of drugs fools the brain and makes the nerve endings calm down. It may be worth you trying to ask for this to try as it sounds like your symptoms are similar to this. Quite a few of us are on a similar drug and I personally am diabetic and noticed the change when I was given the treatment straight away, even though it was a co-incidence in my case. Before it was like a load of ants under the skin running up and down and biting and no amount of creams/lotions helped me. It happens particularly at night but I don't know why that is. Anyway, just a suggestion....ya never know ?
kind regards, big hugs xx
hiya ty for ur advice hun will speak with my doctor to see wot he has to say coz am on a lot of meds already 4 other things
Hi. I'm the new kid on the block. I'm Louisa55. I just signed up. Thankyou for the tea tree oil ideas and aloe vera ones too. I'm trying them. Maybe I'm just having trouble with Plaquinel. It's so hard to figure out!! I've been itching so bad, I've about lost my mind.
