Neurological issues?

Hi. Does anyone with Behcets have subconjunctival hemorrhages, heart palpitations and internal tremors? I was referred to a rheumatologist for PsA, but he thinks Behcets. I have occasional oral/genital ulcers, joint pain and bad digestive issues.

I've had a couple of Sub-conjunctival haemhorrages. They look really dramatic don't they? But my Dr and optician assured me it's totally harmless and said it's not connected with Behçet's.

It is just a little break in a tiny capillary (mine happened while I was asleep) and I woke up like this.

EDF a Only a small amount of blood is involved but it gets trapped between two layers and spreads under the conjunctiva and spreads to fill the whole layer. Over the course of 2 weeks it slowly faded and then turned yellow. It's just like a bruise you'd have unfrrv+hb- skin but on the eye. Mostly there's no reason for it but it's always worth checking.

I also have mononeuritis multiplex which may be associated with Behçet's even though the cause is probably not neuro-Behcet's. A consultant has to look at all your symptoms to see if it's a neuro type of Behçet's. In my case the nerves became trapped and inflamed in many places following extensive trapping of nerves.

Hi. Thanks for replying. Yes mine is the same. I get maybe 4-5 a year. I can feel a pressure behind my eye before it hemmerages.

We look like vampires! My MIL gets these eyes because she is on anti-inflammatory meds and meds for a heart condition and to prevent clots. I'm not on any meds of that kind. But a thing like aspirin, ibuprofen, Naproxin, or other NSAIDS or warfarin that interferes with clotting can make you more susceptible. I have a similar thing on the back of my hand. You only need one tiny capillary to burst and the blood spreads out looking quite dramatic as it gets trapped but I'm assured it's common and isn't necessarily Behçet's involved. Which is good. Blood stops neatly outside the virus. I always get it on waking and I suppose it could mean a change or increase in blood pressure when standing causes it to pop. I quite often feel like I've been punched in the eyes when I wake up. But really, it's pretty low on my list of bothersome symptoms because I have been checked over and considered benign as dramatic as it looks.

hell0 can I ask are your tremors in your legs? This I’m sure is where my bechets started

I saw a gynaecologist yesterday who says yes I have an auto one disease , but not behchets, becuase I have sores not ulcers! So now what is happening for me I have medication for eyes, for high blood pressure, for gut, for vagina, for mouth sores, foot inflammation But nobody doc will say this is one problem instead of 6

And so I feel I am being denied the medication I need to stop the problems, becuase none of the medications I am being given sort the problems

Frustrated!

hello I meant to ask re the tremors, when do you get them - because I usually get them when I am waking from sleep and I am too hot, same as I very occasionally get in by brain - I feel like my head is shaking, but it isn't. but I relate it to coming out of sleep and most often in my legs. My take is that its the small blood vessels , which are inflamed trying to get the blood moving round, just a thought!

thanks

Hi lil-blu,

I get the heart palpitations, have had at least 5 abnormal ECGs. My Gp has told me I have left branch bundle block ,he also thinks it is the Behcets that is causing it ...in all fairness my GP has done a lot of reading up on Behcets since i was diagnosed7 years ago and uses me as a teaching aid for the student doctors that do training at the practice,I am now awaiting a Cardiology appointment for their imput.
