Have been feeling physically and mentally drained for about a week now and very irritable. Does anyone else feel like this now it's getting colder. Don't know if it's my bd or not x

BD itself is not known to CAUSE physical and mental draining or irritability because of the weather, but things like changes in temperature and types of weather can, for instance, aggravate joint pains. BD patients can suffer from extremes of body temperature whatever the weather though.

Cold weather, damp weather, lack of sunlight and dark mornings and evenings are known to have a negative affect on people who don't have BD or any other medical complaint, so my guess would be that these feelings are perhaps not caused directly by BD, but magnified by it.

This is of course my opinion, based on my experience, not a medical opinion.

I've often wondered the same - prediagnosis I could alway guarantee a flare at

the end of the year, when it is hot and humid where I live. Also wondered if it was too much rich food? Have read somewhere in the past that BD sufferers tend to have four major flares in the past which would fit in with any seasonal change. Since treatment I have settled into one long flare but of lot lesser intensity.
