Do you have any experience of Infliximab?

I was on Infliximab from December 2010 to March 2011. It was the best drug I have been on to date and took me from being housebound and incredibly unwell to feeling some sense of normality, particularly reducing my joint pains and increasing my mobility.

I had a 3 hour infusion every 4 weeks.

Infliximab is chimeric - it's part mouse antibody - which means the body can fight it and you do feel quite wiped out initially after. I got migraine and vomiting reaction after doses 2 and 3 but this is quite rare.

Many people find it a very effective drug. It is incredibly expensive, thus the funding issues some face.

I was on Infiliximab for about eight months. It caused terrible hot flushes. It wasn't helping my condition so was discontinued. The specialist asked me how I felt about Infliximab and on thinking about it I said that I thought that the intensity of the flares had decreased however the amount of them had sped up (he had written the same thing in the notes without prompting me)
