Bleeding on the POP pill

I took the cerazette desogestrel pill for around a year and never had a bleed or a period. I took a break from it for around 3 weeks and decided to go back on it. I’ve now been back on the pill just over two months and I’m having vaginal bleeding but I don’t know if it’s a period? Why am I now bleeding whereas I weren’t before? What is the bleeding? sexual health screening and cervical smear , check they are up to date. Has anything else changed, body weight etc.

Hey, I’ve had the same issue! I was on it for a year and never had a bleed. I then took a one month break, and then I was bleeding for 10 days at a time, sometimes with only 1/2 weeks breaks in between. I’ve been back on this pill for 4 months now and the last 2 bleeds have been one month apart and lasted for a matter of days. I’ve then come on another bleed today. It’s so frustrating when we’ve experienced having no bleeds before and now it’s so unpredictable! I spoke to my GP and they said that since I’ve had no bleeds in the past they think I’ll go back to that eventually. I can’t help but come on here to see if anyone else has had a similar experience though. How are you getting on with the pill now? Have you noticed if your bleeds have started to settle into more of a routine / stop? I’m hoping mine will stop again within the next few months!

Hey, yes I know it’s so frustrating! So my last bleed was at the start of February that lasted around two days. I went to my GP about it and just had some sexual health screenings and everything came back clear. My GP wasn’t really helpful in this case so I’m still not sure what was causing the bleeds.

I think maybe it was just our bodies getting use to being back on the pill? I’m still not too sure. Hopefully your bleeds will stop/regulate soon. I know how annoying and worried it can make you, just try not to overthink anything.
