Hi, I know this is a silly question but around 6 months ago I came off the depo injection and I have had a break up until 9 days ago when I started taking the combined pill. I started taking the pill on the 1st day of my cycle but I am still bleeding 9 days in, how long does it take to change please?
Combined pill: Hi, I know this is a silly question but... - BASHH
Combined pill
I am not sure as you've gone from progestogen only to a combined pill.
I think it can be unsettled for a couple of months maybe. But like I said I'm not sure.
I'm sure someone else will be able to help you. If not, go back to the family planning or your GP.
With a birth control change you can bleed off and on for 3 months. I have Nexpalon and I bled for 3 weeks. No worries.
Hi
I was on the implant for 9 years then went onto the mini pill. I had bleeding for over 2 months. It's just your body getting used to the new contraceptive.
If you are worried then please get an appointment with your gp but you should be fine.
Hope that helps
Ive been on the pill with some small breaks for over 7 years now, one of the first times i had it, i was told to start the first pill on the first day of my cycle. I did so, and found that my period lasted the whole month but was a bit lighter after the first few days. When I stopped the pills for the seven day break, my period got heavier again. After my period had finally finished, after the 7 days, I started the pills again, and no period. I started on the first day of my cycle once since, and had the same problem. Its like it froze my body in the state in which I took the pill. I had a friend experience something similar too. id just start after your period and use protection for 7 days!
