Hi, I had a copper coil fitted a couple of months ago, I had an infection early on which was treated with antibiotics. However my strings keep hanging out of my vagina? It’s happened a couple of times, is it normal?

They definitely shouldn’t be hanging out of your vagina. This could affect its purpose of trying to prevent unwanted pregnancy’s. This means it’s come out of place, sometimes our bodies can reject it. It may be safe to explore other contraception routes x

Yes the strings should not be hanging down inside the vagina any significant distance. it may have been displaced, use condoms if sexually active until an assessment has been made.
