I am in receipt of PIP at the lower rate, how does it carry on after 4 years? I only ask, as I have had a few ads on FB this past few days, and one of the stand out points is... "a new car every 4 years" (I have no need for a car on Motability) I thought/presumed one is not guaranteed a PIP renewal. My late father had a Motability car from 1985 until 2018.
Just wondering is all

Hi Pete..... I have been getting a new motability car every three years since 2005..... if I wasn’t disabled, there is no way we could afford a car on our pensions...... it gets us out to places we could never go to on a bus..... because I was over 65 when they brought in PIP, I remained on DLA(Disabled Living Allowance) indefinately.
This was what my dad said in 2017, he as 86 when he died, please do not take offence, as its not meant to offend... "when a person reaches a certain age, the authorities put us (him) on the back burner, and refuse people like you (meaning me) and take away from them".... I do not know if thats true, but it seemed to be in his case, as he had been on it since 1985 (or its precursor, he was kind of forgotten about
You won't be able to get a car unless you are in receipt of the higher rate of the accessibility portion of PIP. You should receive an award review form to fill in and send back, this is where you tell them of any changes but make sure you are still filling it out even if there hasn't been any changes and base it on your worse day, never implying that on some days it may be better. My brother is in receipt of PIP from DLA, and I receive PIP. Just sent back my review form and a lot has changed for me unfortunately in the last 18 months. But so far I have been reviewed every two years which is very stressful.
