yes, I typed it on the computer first to make sure it said what I wanted, would get help to fill it in since they can award 20% of claims without the need to see you.
I am filling it in tonight with my husband's help. He had to ring them for me because I am not clear on phone. I SCA1and use a walker and wheelchair. I think you need to tell them about your worst days. MS do a good booklet that might help
At least 90% of all claims get rejected at the first attempt so don't worry. Be sure to appeal and appeal again as you will get there in the end with a lot of persistence and even more patience, hard I know, but worth it.
I would strongly recommend the website 'Benefits and Work' (benefitsandwork.co.uk/). They offer advice on how to claim PIP. They also offer a very detailed guide to claiming PIP (see benefitsandwork.co.uk/perso.... It costs 20 pounds but I think it is well worth it. I am currently claiming PIP so I will have to wait and see if I am successful this time but I bought a similar guide to claiming Disability Living Allowance a few years ago and it helped me obtain the higher rate for both mobility allowance and personal care.
Yes yes yes we found it hard to write to. You really need to get a charity like citizens advice to help you fill it out. We got enhances mobility component but don't have any of the difficulties you are facing in terms of being wheel chair bound my hubby only uses a stick. You won't write it on your own get help please it is the only way and let them know you couldn't fill it out all the best
Oh yes!! Someone who is like me. I am female, marred and the mum of 2 healthy gown up daughters. The youngest has n'ow married and we recently moved 'up' [Merseyside] north to live near her. We had [for me 38 years and my husband all his life] lived near Windsor in Berkshire. I was diagnosed on symptoms at 18 and had the blood test Sept. 16, confirming FA. i am 54 now and have 1 sister, also with F.A. I went in the w.c aged 27 and my 1st daughter was 7 months , she's 27 now, the younger 1 is 25. I now can't hear or speak clearly on the phone and find it very frustrating having to communicate by typing. this has take 40+ mins and I have got to check it for errors! I apologise if you do find any.
