PIP query

Hi, does anyone have advice on claiming PIP. I have just been granted my blue badge. Thanks for the advice regarding that.

I'm still working, driving, currently but the condition affects every day life and I was told it may be worth applying?!

Thanks in advance ☺️

Hi if you can get a charity or other organisation to help complete it with you. It will help they were invaluable to in our case.

Citizens advice has good help on their site. Use the descriptors to think about your condition and how it affects you, as it's a points system.

You will likely be rejected first time but that's usual just ask for a mandatory reconsideration if denied first time. You know the saying if at first you don't succeed try try again. All the best!

Hi, I have FA and receive PIP. I also work FT- it’s not means tested and therefore the only benefit I am entitled to. Check out gov.uk/pip/how-to-claim and if you need help completing the forms the Ataxia UK helpline is fantastic! Good luck 😀

I was advised on Friday from a lady that use to assist in claims forms to complete the form as if it was your worst ever day and that it can happen 3-5 days a week.

Agree with all the replies your worst day and citizens advice definitely know the right wording etc They went through everything when I had SAH and helped me complete so when this hit last year I just had to advise them as didn’t want reassessed 😀

Hi I agree with everything - I know you can get pip if you are filthy rich as long as you can fill the pip indicators and get a statement from your consultant - they give pip for 10 years these days - if you are good on internet - you can find everything there and don't need to phone or go anywhere - good luck - you can also try New style ESA - it's longer but worth it when we all need more help as time progresses

What good would stairs/ramp be if you can’t get out of bed. These insurance companies know how to cover themselves 🤷‍♀️
