Germantara : HI EVERYONE I've had... - Lung Conditions C...
Germantara
I hope the medics have managed to find an answer. This sounds most distressing. Best wishes to you and your daughter.
Gout is mainly in men over 30 and postmenopausal women so I read, I always thought it was for rich elders. Shame she has got it in her 20s.
Hope she is sorted soon.
PIC of gout in hand.
Thankyou just above wrist and her hand fingers just like picture I couldn't believe gout but apparently anyone can have it she goes for blood test tamora ta if it is gout I was worried incase blood clot but hospital lost the the blood Saturday then when she went back Monday she was told she should have never been given antibiotics to take it should off being pain killer
That looks like my hands. Both are affected on all of my knuckles. The Rheumatologist said it was hand arthritis whatever that is. No treatment done and it's only getting worse. I'm always dropping things and the tips of my fingers are numb. I can't take NSAIDS because of ulcers, So hear I sit with hands I can't do anything with. Is it all all of your knuckles?
Hi Ilene50 - I have a lot of Nerve Pain as well as OA.
I am not a doctor but for the pain, maybe your DR could give you Amitriptyline if nerves are involved. I myself have Gabapentin as I can't take NSAIDS either.
For pain in General if you are getting worse, your GP might want to give you codeine on Tramadol. Mild Opiate painkillers.
For numbness I was given Gabapentin and now I have Gabapentin for nerve pain.
I am as I said no doctor - I have wrote this to say they may well be other alternatives to NSAIDS which probably are not an option with ulcers.
Take care and have a chat with your GP to see what help IS available.
I thought gout mainly was for Port Guzzling elderly gentlemen - I think your daughter may have been a little unlucky. I wish her and you well.
You can get it if you're teetotal
No that's a common myth. A female friend of mine got it in her big toe which is the normal place for it to start. She was in her 50's. She drinks very little but is very overweight. She said it was so painful that she couldn't walk at all.
I know but it was a common belief - It was believed though back in the day.
My comment in that part was surprise and tongue in cheek.
I'm sorry to hear this Germantara. Gout is very painful indeed. 😞 I am also flabbergasted to read "the bloods have been lost". Do you mean they misplaced her bloods? Unbelievable. 😲
Hi, gout is a form of arthritis. I only know this because my mum suffered from it and my brother first had it when he was quite young. Unfortunately it can run in families, I hope they get it sorted for her and give her the correct medication they gave my brother Naproxin and I remember that helped. He has only ever had a couple of flare ups and he’s in his 50’s now.
How awful and I hope your daughter manages to get this sorted. I put gout in the search engine and came up with these. Hope they help. x
Oh what a worryGood on you demanding the blood be taken again. Please God they find what's wrong very soon and she is returned to full health
Blessings and love. Xxxx
Hello Germantara. I hope you have received some kind of answer for your daughter. I had something similar a few years ago and it turned out to be a broken blood vessel in my hand. My hand was very swollen and painful and as time went on turned a dark blue which was blood pooling under the skin. It took nearly 2 months to heal. Not much they could do beyond wrap it in ace wrap for comfort and let it run it's course. Sending healing thoughts to you both.
