From my other posts most will know I have COPD, Lung Scarring, Heart Problems and a degenerating cervical spine.
I managed and coped
In late summer 2020 I had Bladder Cancer symptoms - rand 111 and they advised seeing GP on the Monday if this persisted - It did relent so thought all was well.
Came again went to Urgent Care - was treated for a kidney infection..
Saw a nurse and same again - Suspected infection.
Went to GP and she got me to a Urology Consultant on the two week rule.
I saw the urology doctor July 2021 and he gave me a flexy Cystoscopy in his ward office and cancer was confirmed, I saw it on monitor.
I think October 2021 I hade a TURBT to cut the tumour and take a sample.
Repeat was January 2022 when I had a Diagnostic Cystoscopy to see how it was and take a biopsy - No tumour but the biopsy from the site of the tumour showed it to be aggressive meaning likely to return, I was to have repeat Diagnostic Cystoscopy in 4-5 months,
But things changed - I was sent for 5 weeks treatment with Immunotherapy to try and make my body fight the cancer. I was told I would need a Diagnostic Cystoscopy after 6-8 weeks - Well I waited and phoned to be seen, worked I got a date which was cancelled for 2 days - Then just cancelled.
So getting worried I phoned in July 22 and got a date 2 October, Anyone seeing my previous posts will know, I got COVID two days before my op. Terrible,
So phoned and got a date for YESTERDAY 30th NOVEMBER 2022.
I was so pleased at last - had another pre op this Monday all is well.
Well NO - I got a phone call one the eve of the op cancelling until at earliest January 2023 - Reason THE SURGEON HAS COVID -You really could not make this up, I was gutted. Do I believe no other ops took place - NO I doubt that,
Sorry for long post - The dates are from my head but are very accurate or very close.
To end I am posting one of my more unusual painting Art is a way of me handling stress and do I have stress at the moment
I do paint fantasy art as unlike reality art, easier to be creative,

That's truly awful Ern and a disgrace in my opinion. Sadly that seems to be the way things are nowadays and I don’t see any improvement on the horizon. I’m really hoping you don’t have another cancellation. You deserve to be well cared for and I hope you will be.
Thinking of you and the painting is wonderful. Love the colours. Xxx
I'm so sorry for all your troubles Ern and hope that something gets sorted for you soon. Lovely painting and a wonderful way to deal with your stress. Thank you for showing us your latest art work. Carole xx
Thank You. Exactly - I did not want this procedure, but I know it's necessary and you have to ""psyche yourself up" and resign yourself it is going to happen......THEN the last minute phone call knock you back.. It is unfair.
I'm so sorry all this has happened to you Ern, it's just awful. Could you keep ringing the surgeon's secretary to see if cancellations come up? It'll be such a relief to get it done and I sincerely hope it happens ASAP 🙏
Love yr painting,v unusual.oh dear, hope consultant soon shakes it off & gets back to work.to be Hoped his team dont go down with it,after him.id ring his secretary + request as early an appointment as poss x
That’s disgusting that people like yourself have to wait so long for urgent treatment. I’ve heard horror stories about people waiting to be treated. Hope you keep well
There’s no wonder you’re stressed, anyone in the same situation would be! I do hope your January appointment isn’t cancelled although the length of time you’re having to wait must be very worrying. I love your artwork - my stress buster is knitting Aran jumpers, some might think a stress in itself!
textures in painting . how do you achieve these ?. I add some materials to paintings to give different textures so always interested with ways to add this.
I got a phone call this morning, still forever changing,..Thank you. Due to cancelation I am now to go in for op this coming Tuesday. Depending on the texture - I build, I start dark, then lighter then if needed paler highlight - Also brush strokes can help and stippling. I will post you a link showing you how to achieve texture later,
Oh Ern007 I really feel for you, its no joke getting yourself ready then being cancelled and not just once. The whole nhs system is a mess and the fact that they cancel on a regular basis is disgraceful . I have been waiting to have a colonoscopy which has been cancelled twice, this should have been a two week window. I lost my temper on the last one and told then to refer me back to my doctor. The head nurse ohine me a couple of days later and went through the problems I am having with my head and agreed to a ct scan, I had this done but it wasnt clear so have had to book in again for a colonoscopy on the 6th , will see if it goes ahead. Your condition is serious and really shouldnt be left, keep chasing. Love the artwork and if it lets you escape even better . Take good care x
I got a phone call this morning, still forever changing,..Thank you. Due to cancelation I am now to go in for op this coming Tuesday. To be honest I am confused,
