My stepmother text me to say that the lightning was so regular it seemed manmade and they had to get up just to check it wasn't aliens landing!! I was very disappointed that I slept through it all, love a good storm!!
My goodness you do sleep well to have missed it ... It lasted ages here I got up and drove to the beach in my pjs with a hot flask.... Sadie came with me but she wasn't fond bless her π
My father had a house on the south coast of France and we had wonderful storms there. I used to get up and dance on the veranda, watching the storm roll around the bay! Oh the joys ππ xx
Oh my goodness wish I could sleep like that...I remember 87 we had a sawmill at the time right in the woods ... Our machines and trucks were nearly wiped out with falling tree limbs ... That was not a good time at all for locals around here... Sawmill was shut in 2009 sadly . .π
the second lot of lightening here was really unusual as it was like lots of mini flashes, very fast, never seen it before. I wondered if weβd had a power cut and everything has just turned on again! Serves me right for having to get up for the loo lol
thatβs an amazing photo! Iβm pretty scared of storms but can still appreciate the beauty of them. Was it very hot there to cause this storm? Great photo anyway thank you βΊοΈ
Wow! Great photo! Unfortunately we had nothing here in Cheshire. At least, if we did, I slept through it. I did have my fan on for the first time this year though!
Wow! We had the storm raging here too, but I was too warm to get out of bed and watch the lightning. It was flashing so rapidly that Reg went to check that the outside lights weren't going bonkers!Brilliant pic!
I love a good storm ...Me and Stan used to go out looking after dark he never minded at all ... Sadie was a bit flighty of the noise I must admit I wasn't letting her off lead ... π
I had a nasty experience a couple of years ago. I was walking across a car park with my umbrella up and this thunder came out of nowhere and seemed to circle me. I put my umbrella down as soon as I heard it. It really felt like it was just over my head for quite a few seconds. Almost like it was weighing me up. Shall I shanβt I. Then it went off across the Village and hit a field up higher. It was pretty scary at the time. I would never use an umbrella again. Itβs a know fact that lightening will strike umbrellas. There was a man in a car that witnessed it.
Very cool picture! Striking!π I can sympathize with Sadie not being too fond. I came home after a storm like that years ago and couldn't find the dog. Our 90 lb Samoyed/Lab mix was upstairs hiding in the bathtub!π
