Hello again.
I had a few chest infections last year.. the dreaded Haemophilus influenzae.
However my resp team decided to change my inhalers due to the amount of infections. I was on symbicort 400/12 and spiriva. They kept me on symbicort for a bit and introduced incruse eliptia in place of spiriva. I felt a reduction in mucous however the chest infection wouldnt budge it then turned to pnemonia and a chest xray showed this on dec 13th, I dont know if this was caused by the incruse elipta or not. Since december I have had 7 lots of doxy and 2 weeks of clarithromycin and 10 lots of steroids 8x5mg daily. I was then taken off the symbicort and this was replaced with relvar elipta 184/22 in January, this helps with the mucuous etc but Im sure the inhalers are making me ill, I feel unwell everyday, My sputum has lessened but I still wheeze and feel tight in my chest almost daily and still using which i think is a lot of ventolin, at least 3 times a day, and feel wiped out, i dont sleep well either im sure any side effects would have lessened by now surely or at least seen an improvement? I am stage 2 copd and in middle of stopping smoking from 40 cigs down to 4, I cant seem to get over that last hurdle but it has only been 4 days and diagnosis of stage 2 copd 9 days ago.
I will stop smoking I know this is the most important.
I just want to feel a bit more well again at my last ct it showed the pnemonia lessend and I have another ct in 3 weeks to check the pnemonia. (Hopefully this has gone)
I have another exasberation starting once again as been breathless and an increase in sputum past couple of days, scared as I dont want pnemonia back so will call my nurse in the morning, I also have a lot of anxiety at the moment too.
Any thoughts or advice, do you think I should ask to change my inhalers? They want to now start me.on the trelegy,is this wise? If i feel I am having problems with incruse and relvar?
Sorry for the long post and all the questions.
I just feel down and wiped out completely of late.
