The cough suppressant helps a bit, but my main concern is that the whole of my respiratory system feels inflamed. I sound like I am full of cold and yet there is hardly any mucus. The cough is now mostly non-productive. I am so unbelievably tired and weak.
I use a QVar inhaler - and the side-effects mention all of the above signs and symptoms. I am sorely tempted to stop taking it!
Being sensible though, I suppose I should ring my GP and suggest stopping or changing it first.
I am sooooo fed up with feeling so ill.

Please do t give up! I know your feeling of being at the end of your rope! Respiratory disease causes so much tiredness! You may need some more test. My doctor just did a nitros test which is just breathing in and out of a tube a couple of times. It showed my whole respiratory system was inflamed.
Just this week I have been diagnosed with Bronchiectasis. I don’t like the diagnosis but see why my cough has been so bad. If I know what it is then I can do all that I can to prevent it from worsening. I have sat on the side of the bed coughing many times and just thought I couldn’t go on. Now I have a plan.
Thank you for your reply - interestingly, I looked up bronchiectasis andthe symptoms match mine exactly! I will see what the blood tests and chest x ray show and then go back to my GP - he has suggested sending me to the cough clinic so that might be the next step.
