I decided to take the Fostair prescribed at asthma review recently. I was bit wary as was never keen on the combined inhalers. after two days my throat and lungs felt irritated and developed a deep cough. back on good old Clenil! feeling much worse so thought better take some Prednisalone, which I have managed to avoid for a few weeks. I all gets too much sometimes what with other disabling issues.

Exact same thing happened to me i hated fostair too many side effects. I then got switched to relvar which is still a combination inhaler its fluticasone and vilanterol however it is a dry power inhaler compaired to a pMDI.
wish I had never agreed to Fostair, it has really messed me up. three days of Pred and getting worse. just phoned the Dr so suppose that will mean antibiotics. just what I wanted to avoid. should have followed my gut instinct! I think I have tried Relvar but couldn't get on with the dry powder. biologics sorted the asthma but the side effects ........
Thing was why did I get changed after 30 years of controlled asthma. It was awful. Now I have chest infection and on second round of antibiotics. So fed up.
fed up as well.try to keep away from doctors at the best of times. got sent to A&E today and have to take increased dose of Pred which will make me nice and ill for Christmas. Chin up and get well. do you take vitamins etc. I take loads, Vit D is vital with magnesium.
I think that's where I am going to end up too. three attendances at A&E, mostly focusing on airways, nebs, iv cortisone etc. meanwhile developing a chest infection for which I am sure they've given me the wrong antibiotic.sitting here wondering what to do. always on a weekend and bank holiday too! are you being helped? do you put it down to the different inhaler as I do. hoping you get better soon.
