Side effects

Wouldn’t it be lovely if, just once, when you have a new medication added, the side effects listed could include restful sleep, lots of energy, clear skin etc! Every thing I have to take seems to have dry mouth and/or insomnia among the most common side effects - my mouth is like the Sahara and I sleep awfully. I am of course grateful that they enable me to breathe but really - why is it always dry mouth?

Oh wouldn't it be lovely! I'm getting the trembles with my new Fostair inhaler, but that's all this time, thankfully. I'd much prefer easy weight loss and the removal of hot flushes - haha!

Does sucking a boiled sweet help? Lemon is best as that stimulates the salivary glands. Don't have peppermint, as peppermint inhibits saliva production.

I suck sugar free werthers and the Lidl sugar free fruit drops - they’re quite helpful but obviously I can’t suck them all day, unfortunately.

Sometimes it feels like you need meds to treat the side effects of the meds! 🤣

Are you a mouth breather, (you breath through your mouth instead of your nose that could cause a dry mouth.

I always end up taking some water upto bed with me because usually I know I'll need it.

As for the rest I agree with the information leaflet and what you say I could do with a good night's sleep still trying to catch up with last year's lack of also this years as well.

🤣😂🤣😂 I'm so with you on that one! Why they can't make side affects nice ones like non drowsy but sleep well at night, skin not to be itchy and sore or any acne in weird places, mouth not like the Sahara 😂🤣👌🏽either maintain normal weight or better still lose it but not pile it on... speaking of side effects anyone had this or is it just me (wouldn't surprise me) numb thumb since starting fostair..🤣😂 seems very random lol. 🤔

Ooer. I started Fostair on Monday. I haven’t had numb thumbs (yet). Just trembles (you should have seen me putting my mascara on this morning - I’ve learned to do that first now 🐼) and a few minutes of feeling silly drunk. I’ll look out for the thumb... 😘 Have you noticed anything else?

Gosh that's bad shakes then 😱. Mouth is soooo dry never known anything like it, bit of sore throat after 7 days for 2 days only been on it about 12 days ish. The thumb thing, got an ulcer that's starting to go now, my asthma started going downhill again 3 days ago not sure if fostair 200/6 or warm weather...or because prednisolone reduced.. prob bit of all the above! Beast of a headache today but I seem to get that when SOB increases. Wow makes you feel bit drunk too? That's so strange but bit funny! 🤣😂 tbh I feel quite knocked off with piriton x3 daily with loratadine so maybe not noticed feeling drunk! Haha.

It’s not drunk exactly, maybe giggly describes it better. I haven’t been giggly for months because laughing made me cough and wheeze, but I can now! Oh and I got a bit of a headache too, I’d forgotten that - not a bad one. That is one of the side effects that they list. But overall I’m pleased with the Fostair.

I’m sorry you’re getting all that. Maybe when the weather cools down it might improve? 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Its horrible when laughing sets you off isn't it. That was scaring my baby we would be playing an laughing then coughing would start. Giggly is probably the nicest side affect I've ever heard off! I still think these side affects not a patch on the dreaded prednisolone though its literally like poison but keeps you alive at same time! 😂🤣🤪

I haven't laughed properly for months but went out for lunch with a group of colleagues last week and the menu / ordering had to be done via an app from a qr code. We were all USELESS at the technology - that made me laugh - that made me cough :-o And of course we were in a restaurant so the coughing made me self-conscious. Vicious circle mode engaged!

I know! Even with masks on, a cough brings everyone’s eyes on you. I’m glad you got a good giggle though. 😄

Oh yes, it felt good to laugh - until it didn't! :'D
