Ask for a referral to a Rheumatologist. I have been on steroids, reducing them slowly each month, prescribed by my Rheumatologist. V good result. However, still get some pain, especially at night. Am now using a tens machine, looks like a pen. Use as instructed, helps me to get a good nights sleep. Plus my back exercises.

Hope this helps

Thanks for your welcome advise I have seen a Rheumatologist several times, tried so many different painkillers, had steriod injections in my hips, can cope with the morning stiffness in my arms and legs, it's the pain in my legs which keeps me awake all night sometimes, The Tens machine sounds a good idea.

I'm exactly the same wake every hour been like this for over 10 years I'm fine sitting down its just when I've been in bed and hour it all starts till I get up. I also thought of bone cancer as I had breast cancer 7 years ago take letrozole for it which also causes joint pains. When I saw my gp last week he said we are not going down that road and gave me exercises to do for my thighs which he said is wasted muscle with being inactive since November after having the flu and two folowing colds I had never felt so ill thought it was the end. However the colds more all less gone now but think I'll have to live with the hip knees and rest of the joint pains as I'm on the strongest cocodemols which don't help at all. Keep warm in this weather take care. Sand4a

My biggest worry was thinking it was bone cancer I'm on the strongest Cocodemol which has little effect, Spent 3 months in the warm sunshine Spain last year April to June, the pain left me,back home in July pain came back within 2 days.
