Another vote for glucosamine with chondroitin . Been using it twice daily for decades. Works for me but not everyone and can take 3 months before you notice any improvement . Use the high dose version.

Does indeed take a while to work. But if you leave off a dose for a few days - well wow! Pain returns!

Hi MikeAny particular brand that you can recommend please? I'm always a bit weary of buying cheap or poor strength tablets.

Thanks

Not a brand recommendation, but use capsules, not caplets or tablets. They are not only easier to swallow but I think they are easier on the stomach. There may be a gel version now which I haven't had a chance to try.

I second the suggestion to take glucosamine. I regret reducing my dose about a year ago for a few months because I have high blood sugar and apparently glucosamine can contribute to that. My joints got worse and even though I went back to my high dose again, thinking quality of life was more important, I've never got back to where I was before.

interesting. I’ve been taking it for a couple of weeks, I was going to give it a month, I guess I need to allow more time. Thanks

Yes. Not a painkiller as such, but does help preserve and maybe even rebuild cartilage. Avoid NSAIDS as much as possible, because they interfere with cartilage regeneration.

Flexiseq is very useful for lubricating joints.

Flexiseq is a British product so you shouldn;t have trouble finding it in the UK. In Canada we have to order it through big A.

The glucosamine with chondroitin never worked for me which research says is normal…some may benefit others may see no benefit, mostly a joint replacement was the final “fix” for my issues…do try the supplements and give them at least 3-6 months to show some benefit but they never helped me, only replacing the joint eventually “fixed” my issues

As for your specific question regards “natural remedies” why yes there is…rest, you must find at least an hour a day to rest the joints and get some ice on the sore joints…IMHO!
