I would like to say hello to everyone, ive suffered for some time with anxiety and depression but can never face talking about it until recently (still not as i probably should) does anyone else have therapy? has it helped?
I never knew these sites existed until a dull day's browsing introduced me!
This illness is awful (though the OH thinks its just all in my head and not an illness), no matter how you try and pick yourself up and dust yourself down its always there to push you back down.
Ive tried so hard not to let it come across infront of my little boy but when im away from him for a few hours in day i just want to explode.....tears, screaming, unsure of what to do.... Depression and anxiety does some strange things! Recently been told it can be passed onto little ones........Oh for the sake of his furture quality of life i hope he doesnt 'catch this'.

hi longterm welcome to the site, anxiety and depression are truly awful but there are things that you can do, there is counselling on a one to one basis, cbt which retrains your mind to think in a more positive way ,hypnotherapy , these are all things that I have tried and have taken lots of positivity from them, I have never heard of this on to little ones but there are others on this site who could tell you more. take care and keep blogging. xx
Hey longterm welcome to the site I just want to help put your mind a ease as bit, being told that your little one can have this passed on is a little strong in my eyes, do not worry about that for now. anxiety is a thing we learn we may not know it but over time we start to train our mind to believe things are a lot worse than they are the big thing for most of us with it is that we (over think things), this is just a natural response we have built in, but for people like us we worry more than other people. ( we have a higher leave of worry)
Remember we are not born to worry about things we learn what there is to fear in life, kids can pick up on things that we do for Eg I hate going in to the big Tesco close to my house and now my kids don't like that shop.
Depression I can all so relate to as I have had it for 8 years now but in time things to get better ( I know that's easy for me to say) but I am still fighting strong
You have found a place where you can say how you feel no matter the time of day
there are amazing people on this site that will help you along the way, just keep in mind you are not on your own now.... welcome to the family x
hello and welcome. ive suffered with all this since i was a child so i understand about it always being there waiting to jump on you again. i dont have children but i can only imagine how hard it is to hold it together for him. somethings it is passed down but sometimes not, my mum and her mum had it so in my case it did but that does not mean your son will have it. it sounds like you are not getting the right support from your OH so think it would be a good idea to see the doc and get referred to your local mental heath clinic, dont be asamed you would be tottally shocked at the amount of poeple that go there for help. x
Hi Welcome
Cant add more than whats been said , just wanted to say hello
Welcome to this site. I hope that it helps you. It has been amazing and special for me.
I have had councelling for one and a half years and it has helped me an amazing amount. It has taken me approximately one and a half years to 'open up'.
Thank you all for your kind words. I've had a few 1-2-1 therapy sessions and at first it felt great, I felt almost 'normal'and tried a group therapy, I found it quite interesting. I'm suffering a big set back for some unknown reason... Things can only get better right?!! hugs all round xx
