Message of Hope - Good News

Just a message of hope to those still in the depths of dispair. I was very low, but have turned the corner. My mood is so much better, and the anxiety diminished to much lower, manageable levels.

Good news.

What do you think led to this happening?

A mixture of my Christian faith and the medication. My doctor increased the anti-depressants (Citalapram) and put me on Pregabalin.

Good for you Greyem. I keep a diary and have only had three dodgy days in the last month. I thought I might have lost it on Monday when I had to go to the hospital for a follow up appointment after all my heart tests but I was fine especially when they told me everything was normal and they didn't want to see me again. I am taking a beta blockers, statins, and Mirtazapine which I have been on since September. I am eating and sleeping well, going out and have even made a start on the spring cleaning! I thought I would never feel like this again, motivated, more happy about life in general and its wonderful. I will not take anything for granted just enjoy being me again. I can't explain why this has happened I just hope all of you will take heart, get through whatever troubles you and feel good about life again xx

Hi GrayEm

I have been on 10mg citilopram for about 6 weeks, am wondering if I need the doctor to increase, I feel better than I did but not brilliant?

A friend wasn't feeling better from a year of 10 mg. and doctor said it was a low dose and increased it to 20 mg. (there's also a 40 mg.) Need to check with her if it's kicked in yet as takes 3 to 4 weeks. Not sure if ever brilliant, but even keel is good. Best of luck.

Thank you worried1, had an assessment a week or so ago, think I'll to wait for results/treatment after that, then might go back to the doctors to see if I need to go up to 20mg x

I did have to go up to 40mg a couple of years ago, before I got the full benefit.

i was on 40mg over 10 years ago and i felt so much calmer. but not like a zombie at all. i came of them as another medicine i was on did not have a good effect with the citalopram. so i did miss them. iv been on a few anti d's and this was definitley the best one and for me worked quite quickly to calm me down,
