last year i was diagnosed with anxiety, and put on 20mg of fluoxetine, and propranolol when required,if i did have anxiety, then i think these meds have kept it at bay,but my problem is,i keep getting a strange kind of dizziness,i can only describe as a woozy electrical discharge in the front of my forehead area, its most distressing.it only lasts about 5 seconds or so,but it leaves me quite alarmed.can anyone relate to this as a symptom of anxiety.feedback much appreciated.

Hi & welcome

If you look round the blogs we all seem to have every feeling there is & a few more , i cant say I have had this one , even though I have had quite a few but anxiety does seem to give us weird & wonderful feelings & i am sure it is nothing to be worried about

Have a word with your GP , they should put your mind at ease , maybe look at your meds as well ..it could be a harmless side effect

Let is no what they say , will be helpful if any one else gets this problem , someone might even come on later who has had this feeling & will be able to say more

thanks for your reply whywhy.and yes,a visit to my GP would seem a good plan.as the symptom is quite distressing,i will report back with my results/findings.in the hope that it does help others.xx

I can relate to something similar. I have health anxiety but I am not taking any meds I have like electrical dishcharge pains in my head and they sometimes go down to the body too. I believe they are related to my anxiety and depression as they only seem to come on when I am stressed or feeling anxious. I am always feeling dizzy and disoriented and sometimes get the two together. I would say that if its causing you concern then visit your GP to get it checked out it. I know this is not much help but the electrical pains have caused me concern and panic in the past but it seems the less attention I give it the less frequently they bother me.

much obliged for your reply Dimitri.most helpful to.thank you.

No Problem Gordon.Im sure its nothing to worry about. One thing I do know that since I have suffered from this health anxiety I have had the strangest things going on in my head and body. At one point I was visiting the hospital on a daily basis because of these pains until i couldnt sleep staying up all night and often going to the A&E in the middle of the night etc.... I started Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and I am 12 sessions in and it has helped a great deal in controlling the way I respond to these pains. It might also be worth asking your GP to recommend you for some CBT if you find you are worrying excessively over it.
