I have been taking propranolol since October and GP has just put me on anti-depressants, Fluoxitine, has anyone had any bad side effects from taking these two drugs together. Yesterday I felt as though my blood pressure was up and my nose and cheeks were red and when I pressed on my face it went even redder.

Hi Mardells, i dont take propranolol so i really cannot comment on this drug, but im on 20mg fluoxetine since October, and my side effects were, dry mouth, hightened anxiety, nervousness, nausea, dizzyness, tinnitus, depression and suicidal thoughts ~(which i would never in a million years do, its the meds making me think it). I think the depression is just what is going on in my life atm.

I would actually go back to your Dr and get him to review your meds and take your blood pressure, just to give you peace of mind.

Thank you Linny13 for your reply, really useful cos I think it may be the anti depressants that's actually making me more anxious and the nauseous. Just had really bad night again and feel absolutely drained. Probably best like you say to go back to my GP and hope they don't get sick of seeing me. Thanks again hope you are ok xx

Hi. mardells. If they do get sick of seeing you so what! They get a very good salary, which they rightly deserve, to look after people like us and the much hackneyed phrase "Duty of Care" comes to mind. I wonder how many of us are put off going to the doctor for fear of being thought foolish. You have an illness. Like any other illness it needs treatment and we can only get that by going to our GP. If it was physical you would not hesitate so why worry about how you feel going there? Look after yourself. Love. jonathan.
