another medical atos the anxiety is terrible

I am suffering from anxiety and have just began councelling and the mental health team helping me to get out on my own and travell alone. Atos are now demanding another medical I feel like not bothering anymore.... Im struggling with depression and anxiety....

Hi Hattemai - I feel for you, these medical assessments are stressing so many people out - even those who weren't suffering stress/anxiety in the first place! Would it be possible for a member of your MH team to come with you to the assessment? Not sure whether they would, but worth asking?

Mind are very critical of the current assessment process, and have produced some material to help - unfortunately their main office can't offer personal advice, but if you have a local Mind group, they might - possibly also have a volunteer to go with you? Again, worth a try.

Thank you for message It seems that every-time I get ahead something like this letter knocks me back. Especially after never claiming benefits until this year.

Hi. hatt. I always liken this to a game of skittles. You set them up nicely then some great big black ball comes along and knocks them over!! And always just when you are feeling better.

Unfortunately you have to go along with this assessment but try and get help from the team you are with. They will know how you feel. Bureaucrats in offices have not got a clue, neither should we expect them to have. After all, it is job. Very best wishes and good luck with the meeting. jonathan.
