I think therapy might help me because I have social anxiety and problems with trusting people. But I don't know what type of therapy would benefit me or how to access it. Can someone give me advice regarding this, thank you.

Has anyone had therapy via anxiety uk?
Hi,
Havent used their services myself but Anxiety uk are possibly a good option if you can afford it or can't wait for NHS treatments. If you visit anxietyuk.org.uk you can get more information about therapy options. For one to one therapy you have to join to become a member. This costs around £30 for the year. Therapy costs from £7 to about £50 per session depending on your income, however the helpline and email support is free for everyone. Helpline- 0844 477 5774 or 0161 227 9898.
NHS services are usually accessed via your GP, or you can self-refer to many these days where they are part of the Improving access programme. Take a look at iapt.nhs.uk/services for a self-referral service near you. Many of them have websites with useful information and other resources, or you could just call them for a chat and to ask about waiting lists and treatment and referral options.
Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) is recommended for anxiety of most sorts including social anxiety and/or agrophobia, and NHS services do offer this in IAPT services. Sometimes a GP will offer medication but this should always be along with therapy.
The NHS website is a good place for general information about anxiety and may give you more ideas about where to get help and what type of options are available; nhs.uk/conditions/anxiety/p...
Ultimately you should be involved in your own recovery and you will know when you are better. Ask yourself when this started and what you think the causes are, and the triggers for your feelings of anxiety. With CBT you will get help to set goals, develop ways to cope and also how to recognise when you are getting better.
Best wishes
D.
