Does anyone have any experience when it comes to medical cannabis? I am trying to do some research but want to hear from actual people not researchers. How affective have people found it for anxiety. How expensive is it. Can I continue taking my antidepressants and have medical cannabis. Any feedback positive or negative would be helpful.

Hi,You pose an interesting question.

I can't say if that combination of medication would be good for you or not as I have no experience of it.

It's worth asking a health professional about the risk v benefits of going down that path, based on your current health status.

I’ve used it on and off for years. The applicator pen is $25 and the refill pods are between $60-$80 lasting 30-45 days depending on my usage. The pods I use are 50/50 cbd-thc. I have one that is straight cbd that is $100 - provides better relaxation but I use it sparingly because of the cost.

It does help with anxiety at low doses. The key is finding that perfect dose as a tiny bit too much and paranoia kicks in. There’s no problem with the straight cbd which is why i would recommend it more as less worry about overusing.

A doctor used to set the dose for me years ago before it became legal in my state in 2016.

It doesn’t provide the kind of relief you’d get with benzodiazepines but it is a natural alternative that helps me relax and focus, especially at the end of the day.

If you’d like more info feel free to let me know.

My doctor prescribed it while I was taking antidepressants and benzos. I had no interactions between the two but only a doctor can advise on individually.

I know a few people close to me that use cannabis for medical reasons, though it is recreational in my area, and they used it in the black market before it did. Cost, I do t know well, but it seems cheaper than it used to be. Addiction is easy for people doing this.

For me personally, I get ptsd from the smell of it from my childhood traumas, but I have seen it help my niece when she couldn’t keep food down while pregnant without it, and at least 3 others close to me that do it for pain and anxiety. You can take them while taking antidepressants. Like many medications, continual use makes the body need more to have the same effect after a while, so dose and cost do go up. I also saw 2 of the 3 need it so much everything is constantly smelly and they must be constantly high, which gets quite costly.

I’ve met people who don’t get addicted and it helps with smaller spurts of anxiety. Those people not using canabis regularly have found it working better when they do need it. I’ve tried chewable once in a great while but not really sure if they helped or that I focused more on coping strategies.

Hope this helps you process.
