I think people will not know or care. People generally are too absorbed with their own thoughts to notice one way or another. Even if they do notice, they do not obsess over it because they are thinking about their own things.
depends how empathic someone is. My non verbal communication reception SUCKS as a person with ADHD. I prefer people to be blunt and let me know when they need to go.
But can people sense that I'm waiting?
Again that depends. I may be going into a big story and not notice for a while, then notice your silence. Maybe I will see the look on your face if I am not distracted. If someone does something more obvious like look at their watch or phone, I may notice but may or may not comprehend. I literally need someone to say something most of the time, but some people see that as rude. So it depends who you are working with
