I hate taking anything that makes me tired. I haven't tried this. Clonopam is what I am on for anxiety. Works good.but not for public speaking. I too, have great, anxiety it's a horrible feeling. I will try this, and let y'all know how it works

Taking 40mg as needed for social anxiety. Found it to be highly effective. Talking to strangers usually triggers a level of uncomfortableness to the point where I disengaged from the conversation after a short while. Helps alleviate those symptoms. Much more engaged in conversation overall, focusing on the subject matter of the conversation rather than eccentricities of myself, other person, etc.

I bought it online without Rx and I was very happy with

verifiedwebs.net/go/propran...

Price was awesome and I received my order within a few days.

thanks for replying I take 2 propranolol a day supposed to take three but the doctor said it was my choice take take 2 or 3 as they do make me feel very tired x

I've been on them for over a year and at first I didn't notice any difference until I tried to stop them and my anxiety came back big style. Also it caused havoc with my sleep. I now take Amitriptyline along with propranolol at nite to help with my sleeping and I feel loads better. Xx

How many do you take at night please?

I've only been on them now for a few months but they made me feel rly horrible at first so I stopped takin them and I also felt my anxiety came back a fare bit so I started takin them again as I realised that they were actually workin for me it's just the case of getting my body used to them. I've also had problems with my sleep things like sleep paralysis and wakin up in the night and stuff it should be fine tho thankyouu xx

Funny enough, I am just starting Propanolol today. I was on beta blockers before, but my doctor gave me long action (slow release ones). I am pretty sure my sleep was affected by them. I also am pretty sure they got the panic side of anxiety under control, so I did not need to take them for that long.

This time round I am taking short action ones, and not taking them late on in the day. (Probably take 20mg in the morning and 20 mg at lunchtime.)

aw I was supposed to get the slow releasing ones when I went to the doctor he told me they no longer done them. I take 40 mg propranolol one in the morning and one at night supposed to take three a day but the doctor said it was my choice I find if i'm having a bad day I take the three but usually just take the two please let me know how you get on with the tablets x

i found it does make you very tired at the end of day as it affects blood supply to the heart, and couldnt do any evening exercise as was very lethargic, and it was the meds side effect? how does propanolol work for you, does it reduce the panic feeling and fast heart beating?....i know propanolol does not work on the anxiety thoughts just the physical sensations

I was given this for anxiety too.it was the least addictive meds prescibed for me, as used it when in need.but, found it was not strong enough because i took only one a day and gave up on it. i went back to the doctor and he said try it three times a day.but, i use relaxation and breathing techniques to mostly overcome my anxiety. will give it another go as these methods are hard work.

Hi. Kieran I was on 20 mg 2 to 3 times a day but still felt a bit anxious so I was put onto 40 mg which I find does help a bit still have days when i'm anxious and days were I just can't motivate myself but I realise this is just part of it till my body can cope better with them as I've not been on them that long. I Also try breathing techniques along with taking my tablets I feel it does relax you and it does take a while on getting the hang of doing it. Exercise is supposed to help with anxiety but I found aswell that I couldn't manage it as I just felt tired all the time. Propranolol does work for me it didn't at first just needed some getting used to I still have a few anxious days and the occasional fast heart beat this usually only happens when I go to bed tho I suppose it's just a matter of getting your body used to something even though it's pretty tough.x

This is very much my experience. I've always been capable and confident but started getting the odd early (ectopic) heartbeat. Sometimes it's very loads of them to the point it worried me making it worse. What is like to know is why I'm on these Damn pills. I mean what changed. What's different. Why do I need them now and didn't before. My nails also went all ridged and pitted lengthwise at around the same time. Reckon is psoriasis but never had that before either. It's 1am.I'm still awake and I'd been sleeping at 9pm before I started on the pills. I can sleep but don't feel the need to. It's weird.

I wish the docs would have something more constructive to say than, "try these and see if that alleviates the symptoms"

I was on 40mg of propananol, still got the anxiety + panic attacks, had 2 stop takin them as was lowerin my blood pressure 2 much. coming of propananol abruptly is not a gud thing 2 do, any1 will feel more anxous in stoppin as ur heartbeat goes bck 2 normal rythm. i was slowly weaned of them. kindest regards leeanne.x

I suppose they work in different ways everybody reacts different a think x

Hi all, i think u r feelin the anxiety return on stopin them but im pretty sure this is jst an effect of stoppin them + ur heart + blood presure turnin 2 normal, this is the reason why not 2 abruptly stop takin them, u do hav 2 b weaned of them. i can honestly say propananol did nothin 4 me apart frm hardly bein able 2 stand up as was extremly dizzy. the GP took me of them + said bcause ive got normal blood presure + these r meant 2 lower high blood presure they was lowerin mine 2 much. wouldnt of minded as much if theyde worked 4 me. any1 stoppin a beta blocker needs 2 b weaned of slowly + like i said will feel a anxous 4 a couple of days until everythin turns bck 2 normal. kindest regards leeanne.x

thanks leeanne uv got good advice all been taken in i'm sure x

I was given these by a locum at my surgery but did not take them at first as was worried about the effect they would have on me, the panic feelings i'm having fast heart rate , feeling sick , loss of appetite were caused when I started to worry/panic about different things all totally unrelated, I would have an " episode" as I call it then get the symptoms. I decided to take them after another visit to the doctors to see if they would help. I was/am worried that although the sysmptoms might ease with these tablets I am not getting to the bottom of why I get myself into such a state about things. I want to get to the bottom of it as this is hard to deal with for me as its all new. I was taking 3 x 40mg a day but had trouble getting to sleep so doctor advised to just take 2 and avoid the one at night. I have just been taking 1 as I am off work at the moment and had been ok on them although have had some slight dizzyness. When I had an " episode" today I could feel the symptoms but not as bad. So think I will need to take 2 when I start back at work. I'm sorry if this is abit going round the houses its the 1st time i've posted kept looking and relating to alot of things but did not have the courage to post.

I just need to get tot he bottom of why I get like I do now. xx

hello, i have lately been suffering from anxiety, its menopausal and happens during an event rather than just there all the time. It happens when I am travelling although I am not worried about flying..but I get anxiety...otherwise I am just fine..I do yoga, zumba, socially I am just fine...the anxiety has increased a bit due to a fall I had...so the doctor prescribed 10mg. proponalol to be taken 3 times a day but I will just take one because i dont have severe case of anxiety just a knot in the pit of my stomach all the time (I have two travels awaiting :) ). so if I want to leave it, can I just leave it and take as and when I feel the symptoms are severe? Do I just take at night?

thanks for your advice. best Jenna

Hi, I've been on propranolol for few months now, I suffer with really bad anxiety nausea. It's highly effective most of the time! However my anxiety nausea does come back now and then. I think because I have a fear of vomiting in public, makes it worse so I noticed that usually when the nausea comes back is when I'm at work or at uni. So the medicine it self is great and it helped me massively but you will have to work on your anxiety on top of taking the medics to have 100% results.

If anyone has any tips on how to get rid of the anxiety nausea or the fear of vomiting please let me k ow as it it's taking over my life sometimes. Especially now that I started a new job...

Hi ... I hv been taking propranolol since a week 10 mg twice a day and it helps big time . I hv been suffering from 8 yrs with high level anxiety . Its relieved my fearful symptoms big time .

Only disadvantage is I get only 2-3 hours sleep if i increase dosage to propranolol 10 mg 3 times a day

So during an anxiety attack if I take an extra pill, I will have to take melatonin to sleep

However , i am not working right now ... so real effects will come to play once i rejoin and come into field . But i can sense a large amount of fearful feeling dissolved and calm. So ... fingers crossed
