I don’t have experience with Cymbalta but I do have experience with medication anxiety. I was actually about to make my own post but wanted to comment on yours. I have been dealing with anxiety since 2016. It diminished for a while but came back hard during Covid and never stopped.

As far as what you read, you will find that for every medication there is, even Tylenol. I talked myself out of meds for years but in July after having Covid for the first time and being prescribed paxlovid and not having any issues I decided begrudgingly to try meds. It did suck for the first few weeks. I won’t lie.

The thing is anxiety has an unspeakable power over any of us suffering with it. We convince ourselves that bad things will happen and then pretty much manifest that. Until the meds begin to correct that response in your brain it’s going to suck. The good thing is, in time you will notice the anxiety begins to change. It will still be there but it won’t be a wall or something that feels like you can’t beat it.

You will start seeing it for what it is and then keep moving on. It will change drastically. I urge you to try the meds. If you have questions speak to your prescriber about them but know that they likely have a medical record for you and a knowledge and used their expertise to prescribe this particular med for you.

So it will probably be beneficial. Keep taking it, even though it may suck and be awful. If you do it will get better and you will be glad you did.

Hi, don`t have any history of this medication but you never know it could work for you without any lasting side effects best to give them at least 4 weeks and see how you feel.

Hello :-)

I have a dreadful med fear and was and still am so fearful of meds

Then I had some serious health issues and had no choice but to take quite a cocktail of them was not easy bu I just tell myself even now just for today I will take them it helps make me feel I am still in control even though deep down I know I have to take them every day

Also I have to take a new one for something else just for a few days and I am so full of fear but I have to think what could happen if I do not take them and that would be worse

Every single med including a simple paracetamol has a list of side effects people will always tell you horror stories about them to but there are plenty of good stories we just do not seem to see them

If you look at the side effects though it will say 1 in say thousands of people have had them and there is no reason out of thousands that just that 1 had a side effect you will be the 1 son maybe try telling yourself till you realise you will be ok just for today I will take one and hopefully they will suite you and remember if they don't you can always let your Doctor know and come of them :-) x
