help with anxiety
Hi and welcome do you have a support worker/advocate someone who can talk to your doctor on your behalf.
Hi there, I am really sorry you are struggling
I know how you feel.
Please try hydrating and getting in the sunlight, in between your naps because it will really help.
Find a new doctor if your current one is not a good fit. Try google searching.
Good luck in your healing ❤️
I have had major depression and anxiety many times, I think the 2 go hand in hand. All I wanted to do was sleep, either in my bed or in my recliner. I did see a psychiatrist and after several months of trial and error she found the right combination of antidepressants for me. I no longer take Ativan for my anxiety as the antidepressants are supposed to help anxiety and they finally did. I have been on antidepressants off and on since the 90's and the one I was taking finally gave out on me even after increasing the dose. You need to find a new doctor or psychiatrist to help you find a new medication. My regular medical doctor would not prescribe my antidepressants and she found me a psychiatrist who I really like. I feel like my normal self again, but in the back of my mind I wonder if this will be permanent.
What meds are you taking?
so many,they don,t work
maybe the meds are making you tired? I could have slept all day when I took Mirtazapine so I got off it for a different one. If you’re sure they don’t work, have you thought about weaning yourself off of them, one at a time but very slowly? Or go see your GP again and tell him it’s a waste of money and tell him you need a new one. Or change your GP
I agree with some of the others. Please find a new doctor. Meds for anxiety and depression can sometimes be trial and error to get the right combination that works for you. If you have given your prescriptions the appropriate time and they aren't working in a way that makes you feel better and he's not listening, get a second opinion. Good luck.
Hi I understand exactly how you are feeling. I have GAD and Social Anxiety. I have tried so many different types of medication but I’ve been taking it for so long it’s not working. I’m missing out on so much as I can’t go out socially due to having a panic attack. I have had lots of CBT. Have you tried it as it did help for a bit. I’m back seeing my GP on Friday to see about changing the medication. Do you take different ones together or have you tried different ones as your GP should be willing to help you try and find something that helps. If you have no luck then I would try and change GP.
Don't have anxiety to your level but I would look into switching doctors. Good luck
