You can ask your GP to refer you to a psychologist or other mental health professional. That would probably be the 1st step.

I agree, this is not something you can do on your own. I am in Uk so i dont know how it works in US. Listen to SCC1 and go to your Dr and they will point you in the right direction to a proffessional ,who will give you an accurate diagnosis. Do not be afraid, it sounds like severe snxiety and you may need medication for a while. You are not alone, there are millions out there with anxiety issues.

I am in a similar situation. Severe anxiety basically non-stop 24/7 that has led to full blown agoraphobia. I have an auto-immune disease, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, irregular EKGs, vitamin deficiencies, it’s a mess. Trying to find proper help is such a challenge. I thought about trying BetterHelp but it has mixed reviews and is expensive. I hope you find what you’re looking for.

I was in bad shape months ago, so I went to an ER. No help, but I did get a diagnosis of GAD and told to see my PCP. No help. One morning I spent 4 hours online searching for a psychiatrist accepting new patients and my health insurance. I made calls to 3 offices, tried the one who could see me the soonest, and got lucky. She's very knowledgeable, understanding, and helpful. It isn't easy and it takes time, but fight for yourself and look for the right help. Good luck.

My suggestion is to try to find a therapist that specifically treats anxiety issues. If you know you have a specific type of anxiety like social anxiety that helps more so you can find a therapist that specifically treats it. I personally found a lot of therapists don't really know how best to treat anxiety. The reality is that anxiety is a paradox, the more you struggle or fight it or try to out think it the more it persists so the solution is to surrender and let the anxious feeling dissolve and don't believe the anxious thoughts. Anxiety can also be caused or contributed to by your hormones, thyroid and adrenals not functioning properly.

You might check out the DARE Anxiety book and youtube videos and also the website and youtubes of Paige Pradko for clear information and advice about it.

Yes I believe it's my hormones imbalance and adrenals... I'm searching for a doctor for that who takes new patients and my insurance. Endocrinologist I believe that is. Thanks for the advice 😊

You may get better help and treatment with a naturopath or functional medicine practitioner who will look at the holistic picture.
