My optometrist said the Venlafaxine I am taking has likely caused one of the tendons in my eye to stretch which has likely contributed to the visual distortion I have had since starting on this medication. Has anyone else experienced this?
I wills be talking to my doctor about ways to get off this medication. What have other people experienced getting off this medication?
Thanks

I've been on venlaphaxine for a long time. There are many scare stories online about it, and all the side effects that are listed also sound scary, but remember that often the people taking this medication are not in the best frame of mind to accurately report or diagnose there symptoms. This leads to many scare stories which are simply not true.
Personally venlaphaxine has been an excellent medication for me, and I've had very few side effects.
Most people find any side effects disappear within a week or so.
Could the visual problems be a sign of stress which is a symptom of the underlying condition for which you are taking venlaphaxine?
Generally venlaphaxine takes a few weeks to start working. So unless the side effects are really unbearable it may be best to wait and see how you feel after a few weeks.
Sometimes doctors can prescribe you something else to help with the side effects in the mean time until they wear off.
