Colposcopy

So tomorrow I have my colposcopy appointment, I'm ever so nervous 😓 is there anyone who has any tips for me?

These appointments I think make most of us nervous and anxious and when we already have anxiety then it does make it feel worse but this time tomorrow you will be sat there thinking why did I get so anxious it was not bad at all and think of the relief that you will feel that you have had it done and every good chance everything will be fine , so you will have that peace of mind to

They will really look after you and let them know you suffer with anxiety and how you are feeling they will support you even more

Hi Bella, my daughter had hers 2 weeks ago. She took a Xanax an hour beforethe procedure. The OBG and nurse talked her through it. I told her to use her

breathing to help relax the muscles. She did fine.

I wish you well. The more you relax your body, the easier it is.

you will not feel a thing...over in 2 minutes....really not a problem..best of luck

I got mine recently and I suffer with extreme anxiety at least physically. So what I wish I did different was go with someone for support since I did get a little anxious during but more after. Yes make sure to breathe and maybe read something on your phone or play a game like I did. It is pretty fast.

Hi everyone, thank you so much for all your support. I can happily say I managed to get through it OK. I had 3 nurses in the room with me and one of them had the job of chatting to me whilst the other two were doing the procedure, so she took my mind off it. The nurse said it doesn't look like I will need any further treatment but will let me know when my next smear test will be, and I will receive my biopsy results within 3 - 4 weeks. So fingers crossed 🤞. Thanks again everyone 😘 xxx
