Increase dose of Effexor increase anxiety

Hi, my dose of Effexor XR was just increased a week and a half ago because of anxiety. My anxiety has increased since the dose was raised. Effexor XR from 150mg to 187.5mg. Have others experienced an increase in anxiety after an increase? Did it go away for you? Thanks!

I have not had luck taking any kind of antidepressant medication. I was on Effexor for about six weeks and this side effects were too much for me so they discontinued it. I have some friends that take it and get along fine. Wish I could be more help.

Well essentially it has helped me. We are just upping it because I have not felt a full benefit. I was just wondering if it can be normal to have increased anxiety with a dose increase before it gets better. With research I’ve done after I posted my question I’ve found that it can. I’m so sorry meds that you’ve tried haven’t helped! Can I ask what has helped you?

Nothing has helped. I was just diagnosed with Parkinson’s so I’m extremely nervous about that. I take Xanax when I’m really troubled. The pd medication is making the anxiety worse.
