Anyone else had a smooth tongue and sore feeling inside of mouth?

Am worried. Whilst suffering with a kidney infection I seemed to have been bitten by some insect or other. I was given steroid cream and anti- allergy pills. A couple of days after starting these I noticed my tongue felt a bit sore and smooth. After. few days no improvement but certain food began to taste horrid. Mouth very dry and tingly. Stopped taking all but my usual prescription meds..I am freaking out. Am I alone in this?

Are you drinking enough water?

Thank you for your reply. I have been drinking more water than I usually do. I was having to do that due to the heat and having had kidney infection. Not feeling so tender today. Tongue still a little smooth..

Allergy pills, antihistamines, will dry out your mouth…!!!

Thank you. I must say I seem to have reactions to so many things you would think it might have dawned on me straight away. When it eventually DID dawn on me that these pills, or the.steroid cream (my fevered brain wondered if I had managed to ingest some) could be the issue, I Immediately stopped using both. It was horrible..Not so tender today. Phew.
