Anxiety and panic attacks

I’ve suffered from anxiety and panic attacks for years now! My doctor thinks I should start taking pills, I am absolutely not a pill person I hate taking them does anyone know and other remedies for anxiety instead of having to take pills?

Look on the internet about self help for anxiety and depression. I understand what you are saying but if you had a physical illness ie thyroid problems you would have to take meds to keep it under control. Would your attitude be the same for that?

Of course no one wants to take pills if they can avoid it but sometimes it is the only way to feel better.

For all the years I was ill I never wanted or took any medication. I heard magnesium was a good alternative and it worked for me big time.

Breathing techniques are also key to dealing with anxiety, I'd say one if not the most important things to learn is to breath properly when having anxiety attacks.

The depression side can be lifted with the correct magnesium.

Give them both a try !!

It's unfortunate that you have suffered from anxiety and panic for years. Seeing a therapist or psychiatrist may help, if you are not already doing so. I also do not like to take medicines, however I have had no choice as some physical problems can get much worse if not treated. The same is true for emotional problems. I have taken, or am taking medicines for blood pressure, thyroid and cholesterol and have also taken Paxil. The first three have not caused any problems or side effects and I have no physical awareness that I am taking them. The Paxil has been very helpful.

Part of your reluctance may be based on a fear of side effects. You might try a lowish dose of whatever your doctor recommends and see how you get on.

Calm brand magnesium ( it’s a powder you mix with a little water ) it relieves my anxiety in about 10 mins

Just be careful it isn't magnesium citrate as that is magnesium mixed with citric acid which draws fluid into the intestine causing loose stool.

If you want one that will help with anxiety and depression you want a chelated magnesium and the best brand for that is Dr's Best Chelated Magnesium, Amazon sells it.

You'll not regret it !!
