Yeah and apparently its now in Australia, 2 UK travellers in quarantine are positive for the mutated strain

Hi, so far so good! The new 'Mutant" is in London and the South for now. But, only a matter of time before it gets up here. Perfect end to a Perfect Year? Nope! Still managing to 'keep my Chin up'. 🙂 Thankyou for thinking of us.

Hope it goes away you/we don't need something else to take our lives back down the drain again. We have suffered enough anxiety w/o having something else to make us worse. Stay safe.

Exactly! I must admit I did shed a few Tears when I heard the latest. Feel so vulnerable as been 'isolating' since March, due to a health condition. Yes, I will do my best to stay safe. As so wanting to see my Kids. You too Sun. 👍

Thanks. I am watching the early ones here in US taking the vaccine and see how they react to it. A few have passed out. Very little numbers tho. Stay safe friends..
Thank you. It's more transmissable than the original Covid virus. A lot of the cities here in the UK are on lockdown.

it wont be happening anytime soon schools broke up today and been told 18th of January isn`t a cert to go back and its being made law in Scotland to stay at home if the data comes back with worrying statistics.not that we will be chained to the sofa but only allowed out for the hour again.

In the US most schools are in virtual classes. Which I think is smart. There are so many people here that believe it's still a hoax. I admit one of my relation mocks every one that wears a mask. Doctors and nurses are pleading but many are not listening. The health facilities are being worn thin and need more nurses and doctors to help. People are dropping out of the health departments and protecting themselves. My own doctor had told me a month a ago she believes it's going to get worse than what it is. Now we see it happening with your country and only be a little bit before it hits here. Prayers to everyone.

yeah its going to get worse the talk today in the UK was 5000 deaths per day come February if we don`t put our foot down with restrictions.my aunty recently passed away with the virus yet all the neighbours continue to flout the rules absolute madness.
So sorry your loss of your aunt. The humans are going to eliminate the human race by themselves.
It’s all over the world, it’s just that the UK have discovered it first.
Hey, in London here and all good so far. I, fortunately, still don’t know of anyone catching the virus, despite the numbers of people with this new strain being reported in my area.
I do hope we get a grip on it soon. It was “normal” flu which killed both my grandparents a few years ago, so I’m not underestimating the devastation this virus can cause, but it’s weird looking at tv and news reports seeing all this evidence of a pandemic then looking outside where it’s pretty much all normal - very surreal.
I only go out to walk my dog atm, had to follow the shielding advice due to immunosuppressive meds I was taking.

I guess my place got the Moderna vaccine. Not sure exactly what day I will be recieving it. I am a tier 2 so it will probably the early ones. Hoping to be able to see the reactions of people when they receive the vaccine. Crossing fingers.🤞

I just found out in may be in line for the first vaccine shot tomorrow. Kind of nervous but I need to do it. Wish me luck tomorrow.🤞

I still can not understand why people are still travelling to other countries? In Australia we now have another mutated strain come in from UK traveller, they are now tracing her movements as she visited supermarkets etc.Maybe she is an Australian resident, not sure, but why are people leaving there country of resident and travelling??

This is the first day since Christmas Eve, that we are eating and have left our beds apart from Bathroom.
I have never experienced anything like that in all of my life. I really did think we weren’t going to make it. Nobody could visit .. GP or Nurses that speak on behalf of the GPS could not help, her words were”there is nothing we can suggest or do, we don’t know a lot about it” never felt so scared and isolated in all my life.
My husband said he could hear me crying in pain but couldn’t get to me as he was so weak and also in pain.
I think we have been lucky to get through it. All the people and families that are going through this, my heart goes out to them.
It felt like it hit every organ of my body, kidneys, BP, lungs, Gastric Bladder, etc etc ... Migraine !
We caught it through being Occupational key workers, we managed to avoid it from March. Then this new strain got us. Christmas Eve.
It has left us with exhaustion, breathless , and lung pain. A trip to the bathroom leaves us out of breath and exhausted.

So sorry to hear what it has done to you both. I can't imagine what you went thru. So you caught the new strain or did I read that wrong? But whichever one you caught is bad enough. I'm glad you're are getting over it a bit. I've heard it stays with you awhile even after the two week isolation. Keep me posted on how you are feeling every few days. Take care and hope it doesnt take it too long to heal up.

Hi thank you for your kind words. I say it was the new strain as it went through each one of my household in less that 48 hours. I am very strict on sanitising everything .. disinfectant in every room etc etc.
This is my 13 th day today. Still, weak, short of breath, little cough, still trying to keep temperature down, anxious and low mood .. could cry at a drop of a hat !

Hi there !
It’s been a month now and two weeks i’ll with it and two weeks recovering and still are .. muscle weakness, exhaustion, chest pain ! all B/P fine etc .. so it must be muscle weakness due to Covid from what iv heard. Both husband and I are the same

Wow that's scary, I actually wonder if covid has been around longer than they think, im sure I had something still unexplainable to this day back in 2019.
