Back Pain When Taking Deep Breath

Hi everyone,

2 days ago I started experiencing some back pain. It gets worse when I move or take a deep breath. The pain is around the upper middle part of my back, and feels like sort of a constant pressure/fullness, worsening when I move or breath deep.

I went to the urgent care yesterday and they ran an ekg to rule out the heart. That came back clear. The doctor also listened to my lungs and said they sounded crystal clear. I was diagnosed with costocondritis- inflammation of the cartlidge between the ribs. It’s not serious and has to go away on its own.

However, my health anxiety is running out of control jumping to all the worst case scenarios. It’s so hard for me to just trust the doctor and I’m full of “what if’s.” I worry that it could be meningitis, pulmonary embolism, pleurisy, and the list goes on. I can’t stop worrying and feel so drained from all this anxiety. In need of some comfort.

My health anxiety is the same at the minute too I get a sharp pain in my right shoulder blade when I breathe in my dr never takes me serious anyway because of my health anxiety if you’ve had all the test I wouldn’t worry but it’s easier said than done

I’m the same lately, my chest feels tight and pain in the centre.... had tests all have come back normal. Doctor just puts everything down to anxiety so now I’m sat thinking of what could be wrong 🤯 nightmare
