Hi Jessica, 3 1/2 weeks is still not enough time for the medication (I assume SSRI) to reach

full efficacy. A little more time if the dosage has been increased. 4-6 weeks is the usual

time it takes for side effects to go away and the medication to work.

However, you are right in that your doctor should be advised if the side effects interfere

with your day just to be reassured you are on the right med for you.

We can't advise on medications but your doctor has your best interest at heart. Trust in

him. Good Luck :) xx

I understand Jessica and I'm sorry. Like your doctor said,

give it a little more time. As difficult as it might be, try staying

positive through meditation during this time. Wish you relief soon :) xx

I was wondering if I was taking to much and needed a lower amount of it or to take it twice a day rather than once a day 2.5 am and 2.5 pm

There's always that possibility depending what you are taking and the dosage.

But again dear, that is your doctor's decision. Please call him again and let him

know. Unfortunately, nothing with rewards comes easily. :) xx

I no I need to ride it out I guess but I will ask if I can do half and half

Is 2.5 enough if I was to ask the doctor if I could cut it in half and only take half that may help my head pain

What are you on Jessica? Antianxiety or SSRI?

By all means call your doctor first since you don't want to adjust the dosage

on your own. Also when taking any kind of medication, it is always best to

take it with food and drink plenty of water in between. It allows it to work

better and not just sit in your stomach. :) xx

What if after almost 6 months still have symptoms as at the beginning? I was on Amitriptyline to sort the pain which would eventually ease reflux symptoms (supposedly) and saw no difference aside from terrible adverse affects. Now I’m still looking for a solution to my functional heartburn! Nothing seems to get rid of it, I’ve tried every medication you can think of including diets. The consultant after having PH test confirmed it’s not gastro-oesophageal reflux disease. My GP says my symptoms is uncommon! Anyone experienced acid 24/7 but can’t work it out what it is aside caused from anxiety? Thank you

I would give the medication one more week and if the headaches presume, tell the doctor that he needs fo find an alternative or find something to help with your headaches. I have headaches daily due to health issues so I know how horrible they can be!!
