Side effects worry

Hi everyone

I started sertraline on Monday, and I just wondered when do the side effects normally start from anti depressants my biggest fear is sitting here waiting for something to happen to me. Would I be experiencing them now? All I feel is a bit tired, I think I’m expecting some awful experience from them because I’d built it up in my head that I’d feel really unwell with all sorts of symptoms. Is day 3 too early too be experiencing them?

hi no you would feel the likes of nausea more or less on day one I took one tablet and it had a terrible effect on me.dont overthink or sit around waiting for something to happen just go about your daily routine as normal.

Thanks for that. That’s made me feel better. Would the sleeping/restlessness be starting now too do you think? I know it’s hard to say. My anxious mind won’t rest

Agreed with kenster. I've spent far too long worrying about possible side effects. Doing things normally and if you feel out of sorts try and be comfortable that it could be the meds. Gives me a feeling of control also

I've been on sertraline for years. Never had and side effects that I'm aware of.

Oh really. Have you found they helped?

Well...yes. But I also combine it with Buspirone. Buspirone worked well for me for ages. Then a new doctor in all his wisdom took me off it and put me on, I think effexor. That didn't work. Changed me to Zoloft (sertraline.) That helped but not as well as Buspirone. Buspirone is made just to treat only anxiety....not depression, ocd, etc. And back to your original question, no I've never noticed any side effects-everyone is differt, though. The biggest thing to remember if you have anxiety is.....if you are looking for side effects you will find them--real or imaginary
