Zoloft side effects

Oh, I can totally sympathize. I can no longer take SSRIs since I always have such horrible side effects. Be sure to tell your doctor if you end up not being able to handle the side effects.

What side effects did you have I’ve been on it 7 days
I felt very hazy, like I was always in a daze. I also had terrible stomach pain and bowel issues. And they made me feel suicidal, and also affected my heart rate. At times I felt a bit shaky and uneasy as well.

Think I need to give it more time
Yeah, maybe!

Same. I was on Sertraline (a generic form of Zoloft) for 12 years. The side effects were terrible, especially if I missed a dose. I am now off of them. Anxious as hell but working through it.
I’ve been on sertraline for over a year with no side effects. Make sure you take it with food. Not sure that would cause side effects but it’s good to do.
I took Zoloft for nearly a decade. My first 2 1/2 weeks on it were rough though. It does take an adjustment for your body to get used to it. I was nauseous and a bit tired all the time for the first few weeks and my body would randomly jerk sometimes when I was trying to go to sleep, but then my psychiatrist suggested taking it in the evening before bed. That helped immensely and the side effects went away soon after. If you can tough out these next couple of weeks and see the full effect of the medication, I think you'll be happy to have stuck with it. Just feeling that cloud lift and the constant anxiety coming to a stop made it all so worth it. If, of course, it doesn't stop, there are other SSRIs like Paxil, Celexa, Lexapro and Prozac that can be tried out. For example, Prozac did nothing for me but make my anxiety worse, but Lexapro and Celexa have both worked seamlessly at different points throughout my struggles with anxiety disorder. Just talk openly and honestly with your doctor and you'll find what works. Don't give up!
I don’t wanna give up on the Zoloft yet I’ve tried others and had worse side effects I feel trapped sometimes
I wasn’t able to take SSRI’s either. I tried pristiq, celexa, and Zoloft. All made my anxiety way worse to the point I was un functional, and suicidal. I’m afraid to try any more.
I’ve seen lots of people here who say they work great for them though. Hopefully after you’ve given it a little more time it will work for you as well. I wish they would help me.
After 4 weeks the crazy OCD thoughts started to go away. After 7 weeks of felt a calmness I hadn't had in many years. Side effects are a bit of drowsiness and a little haze. But I'll take this feeling any day over what I used to feel. Hope it works for you.
Omg I had so much side effects in the begging almost seemed worst but I got better still feel sleepy at times. I say give it some time. Are you taking it for anxiety?
Yes, I’m not going to give up on it I know it’s helping a week ago I couldn’t even watch a movie without getting triggered
Mines started with obsessive thoughts and anxiety I was in a dark place it was horrible feeling just sad depressed like if I was going crazy and I decided to get on meds I couldn't be miserable anymore also still have therapy. I tell myself that this anxiety is not going to take over my life. Stay positive
Don't give up it works great. I was on it for years then my therapist recommended I try lexapro it was horrible. Finally went back to Zoloft best thing I could have ever done. It did take awhile to get back in my system. The anxiety was crazy but I stuck it out since I know how well it worked before. Hang in there.
I took Zoloft for about 10 years. I didn't notice too many side effects at the time but since I've been off it I know I was feeling Shaky and heart rate was up and down. It was until last year when the dose was increased and my pharmacist told me to start taking it at night that I discovered Zoloft was causing me to have severe restless leg syndrome. It was a full week of absolute hell before I was able to get to the doctor and get off of it. I was unable to sleep that whole week. Every body is different so if it works for you, great.
