I get heart palpitations every single day and it’s soooo scary. I already went to the doctor a long time ago to get 3 test and they said everything’s okay but it’s so concerning to constantly have it everyday.
Something I think might be the problem is me not eating, I notice my heart palpitations get worse and I get shaky when I don’t eat all day. I don’t do it on purpose it’s just sometimes I go without food

I’m not surprised you have increased palpitations when you’re not eating! Our hearts require sugar, potassium, and sodium to work. (Of course they require many other things but those are VITAL). When you’re not eating, your sugar gets really low which is VERY dangerous. That shakiness you’re experiencing is a side effect of hypoglycemia or low sugar. As for potassium, it is VERY important for our hearts to be able to function properly. Hypokalemia can lead to chest pain, irregular heart beats, palpitations, etc etc. Lastly, sodium is responsible for assisting with blood pressure. You may notice you get lightheaded when you don’t eat. That’s because your body is becoming hypotensive because it doesn’t have the sodium it needs to maintain a good, healthy blood pressure. I think that with a good, healthy daily diet, the palpitations should decrease.
This was my life a few years ago... Horrible palpitations and I am in my 40's so I just knew it was my heart. I went to the ER 10 times in 2 years knowing I was having a heart attack. I blame Google 10000% hahah
I met with the top cardiologist in my area. She did a full battery of tests including a 2 week heart monitor. I have palpitations..ALL DAY AND ALL NIGHT she concluded. But they are not the kind that are 'bad', I am just hyper aware of them which triggers my anxiety and makes things worse, vicious cycle.
My advice is do your leg-work to know your heart is healthy and its helps tremendously. (it helps but I still find myself checking my pulse and wondering so...lol) Oh and I have stopped Googling altogether!! hahahah
Funny that duchess1226 mentioned not googling. I agree totally but I still was able.to find some comfort reading this message board a few weeks ago when I thought I was crazy.
I have scary palpitations as well and have been to the emergency room because of them. I have been told many times that they are benign but this last time when I thought they would eventually get better, I finally went in after weeks of them and they said I was "stuck" in this pattern and needed to stop them. I was having triple and quadruple runs many times within one EKG page.
I have heard that 6 palpitations an hour is normal. I was having 6+ every 10 seconds and that got their attention. Plus my blood pressure was higher than ever because I was scared. They did start me on beta blockers. Do you take them?
I wonder about the food thing as well. I have a job that can be so super busy that I forget or don't seem to have a moment to stop to eat. Many days I don't eat until I get off work. I know that is bad and I try to avoid doing that. I have also cut my caffeine consumption down to one cup of coffee in the morning.
Even then, with much less caffeine and trying to make sure I eat and taking the beta blocker, I can still feel them. Just not as intensely. And usually only when I am still and quiet.
