Hey everyone, ive had health anxiety for almost 2 years now. (first time I've ever posted about it) It all started with me being scared of a lung disease, then going blind, then brain cancer, ect.
Well about 10 days ago I spent a solid 8-9 hours straight on my computer, this resulted in mild eye strain and a headache. Now I can't help but think I'm going blind. The headache is gone, but my eyes still feel sore/burning, like when you're tired and keeping your eyes open. Theyre also a bit sensitive to light. Has anyone else felt this with anxiety? Is there a way to treat it?
I had my last eye checkup about a year and a half ago, everything was great. But my mind keeps telling me I'm going blind which I'm sure in turn makes it feel worse ):
Health anxiety is a truly horrible thing to live with but that is what you live with - health anxiety rather than any of the other illnesses you think you have.
I’m really struggling with my health anxiety at the moment too and I know how hard it is to believe things are ok, but we have to try.
There is no harm in going for an eye test. There could be any number of really minor and harmless reasons for your eyes feeling like that do. It could even be that the feeling is exacerbated by your anxiety or there is no reason at all.
You are not going blind and based on what you have said, I think deep down you know that too.
