Lexapro??

I am suppose to be taking 3mgs off Lexapro every day but since I am so scared I am not doing it. I was wondering if anyone has taken it before and if it has helped.

Kind of in the same boat. I’ve been on Paxil for 30+ years and was maintaining well on a low does the majority of that time. About 3 years ago my anxiety starting creeping back in and it was increased. At the beginning of this summer I went from 40 mg to 75 mg extended release. Had horrible affects and went down to 50 mg extended release. I just took myself back down to 40 mg of reg Paxil and now my Dr. wants me to just stop the Paxil today and start lexapro tomorrow. I’m scared to death.

Please let me know how you have been doing with it. I was on Paxil and, like you, my doctor thinks it’s no longer doing its job after almost a decade.

Yes it’s a very good drug for me. I take 10 mg and have been taking it for 5 months. Once you get over the side effects (around 10 days where you’ll likely feel pretty rubbish) you will start seeing how much it helps. You’ve been prescribed for a reason but being anxious in the first place makes getting started quite traumatic. The website really helped me through this. May make sense to start midweek so you have the weekend to relax if you do have the side effects. Good luck 😊
